FreeBSD is an operating system developter out of the University of California, Berceley in 1993. On this day, 20 years ago, the name for the operating system got defined via a post to the mailinglist.
On the 19th of July in 1993 David Greenman aka DG wrote this: "How about just simply "FreeBSD"? No confusion, no fuss, seems like a good compromise to me. :-) -DG".
The name FreeBSD was born! Happy Birithday!
